Current Trends in the Development of Components for Rubber Products

Abstract

This study presents an analysis of the component base for rubber products, focusing on special rubbers, plasticizers, vulcanizing agents, and antioxidants, through a review of publications from the Russian Federation and international sources from the early 2000s to the present. The most commonly utilized components in rubber formulations both in domestic and foreign contexts are highlighted. Key trends in rubber formulation are discussed, emphasizing the shift towards eliminating toxic substances and enhancing the environmental sustainability of rubber products. Furthermore, in the realm of special-purpose rubbers, the study observes an expansion of the operational temperature range, facilitated by the adoption of new rubber grades, oligomeric plasticizers, and sterically hindered antioxidants.
