Abstract

Using the methods of patent data analysis, the trends in the development of the industry of frost-resistant polymer materials are analyzed. It is shown that China occupies the leading place in terms of the number of patents. Among other countries, Japan and the United States occupy the leading places, while the Russian Federation ranks 6th in the ranking. There was a significant decrease in the activity of obtaining patents worldwide during the Covid-19 pandemic. The analysis of patent data on the indices of cooperative patent classification has shown that when creating frost-resistant materials, a large place is given to composite materials based on four or more polymers. As a polymer base for such compositions, the following are most often used: polyvinyl chloride; ethylene-propylene copolymer; ethylene-propylene diene elastomers; rubbers containing acrylonitrile, as well as polysiloxanes. As functional components of mixtures, the most widespread are: nanostructured additives; zinc oxides and hydroxides, as well as organic peroxides. Semantic and statistical analysis of patent families has shown that in addition to frost resistance, resistance to hydrocarbon media, as well as ozone, moisture and UV resistance are important for polymer materials.
