Abstract
The paper presents preliminary results of studies on the creation of heat-resistant rubber formulations for products used in conditions of sea water exposure. Rubber mixtures based on ethylene propylene diene rubbers with diene monomers DCPD and ENB, as well as the effect of the multifunctional additive dispractol KS-BP on the technological, physical, mechanical and operational properties of rubbers based on EPDM are studied. Tests of experimental rubbers were carried out using standard analytical methods. Physical and mechanical properties of rubbers before and after thermal aging in air, tear resistance, TOI and bond strength with rubberized cord are determined.
It has been established that waterproof rubber based on EPDM rubber with an ENB content of 10 %, where dispractol KS-BP was used as a multifunctional additive, has an optimal set of technological, physical, mechanical and operational properties, and can be recommended for the manufacture of multilayer RCOs used in shipbuilding.
