Abstract

The article describes the main requirements of GOST 7463-2003 for oversize agricultural tires (OAT), as well as some technological problems in their production, especially radial tires. Several different aspects are shown for quality issues such as material distribution, improvement of the physical and mechanical properties of rubber in finished tires, reduction of wear, energy consumption, waste and cost. Special requirements for OАT are noted in order to provide the required physical and mechanical properties (PMP) of finished tyres. The current production process of OАT radial with large grousers and low density tread pattern often results in material distribution defects, which are determined by radial cut (cross section) of the tires. The new technological process for producing OАT is proposed, which eliminates the uncontrolled flow of the rubber compound of the tread, the sublayer and the belt into the grousers of the tire mold during shaping. The proposed method also allows to improve the PMP of tread rubber.
