Abstract
Research of methods for obtaining new grades of synthetic latexes by copolymerization of diene monomers with methacrylic acid, acrylonitrile and/or vinylidene chloride, as well as improvement of previously developed recipes for obtaining artificial latexes from solutions of polyisoprene rubbers in hydrocarbon solvents has been carried out. Colloid-chemical, rheological, film-forming and physical-mechanical properties of experimental samples were investigated. It was found that films obtained from carboxyl-containing latexes were characterized by high strength properties. Experimental samples of chlorine-containing latexes were successfully tested in the production of waterproofing mastics instead of chloroprene latex as a modifying additive. It was also found that application of organic-soluble zinc dibutyldithiocarbamate instead of zinc oxide allowed to obtain sub-vulcanized latex already at the stages of solvent distillation and concentration at a temperature less than 90 °C.
