Сhemical Modification of Isoprene Rubber

Abstract

This article presents an overview of scientific papers devoted to various methods of modification of synthetic polyisoprene (IR). IR is still not a full-fledged replacement of natural rubber (NR) for modern tires of some standard sizes. The reason for the differences in the operational properties of IR and NR is, first of all, the NR structure containing components of non-rubber nature with active functional fragments. The real direction for creating a full-fledged synthetic analogue of NR is the functionalization of IR at the stages of synthesis or processing. The works closest to practical implementation are considered.
