Abstract
Continuation of a series of works on the effect of plastication (P) of isoprene rubber (SKI-3) on the properties of rubbers. The influence of temperature T and time t of P on the value of the row rubber strength of a brecker rubber compound (σk) has been studied. As before, P was carried out in a 5-liter rubber mixer of the company «HFM» in the ranges T = 30–130 C and t = 30–600 s. The molecular characteristics of SKI-3 and its plasticats, as before, were determined on a Waters gel chromatograph. An empirical equation is obtained that allows calculating its σk from the known values of the Mooney viscosity and the plasticity of the rubber mixture. The efficiency of the contribution of each fraction to the value of σk of the rubber compound is estimated. The difference in the nature of the influence of the molecular weight of the fraction on the value of σk at different T is shown, associated with the different nature of the processes occurring. It was found out that the oxidative destruction of macromolecules occurring during P contributes to an increase in the value of the σk of the rubber compound.
