Features of the Behavior of Butadiene-α-Methylstyrene Thermoplastic Elastomer under Conditions of High and Low Temperatures

Abstract
A method of producing of butadiene-styrene thermoplastic elastomer (DST-30R) and butadiene-α-methylstyrene thermoplastic elastomer
(DMST-30R), which initiating based on the system n-buthillithium (n-BuLi) with ethers – tetrahydrofuran (THF) was described. Influence of
molecular-weight characteristics of thermoplastic elastomers on physical and mechanical properties of the obtained samples was studied.
It was shown that a decrease in the content of a two-block copolymer to 17% in the structure of DMST-30R contributes to an increase in
the conditional tensile stength up to 23,5 MPa. Characteristics of thermoplastic elastomers was studied under conditions of high and low
temperature from –65 to 100 °С. It was founded, that DMST-30R can keep tensile strength properties even at elevated temperature, also
coefficient of low temperature resistance of DMST-30R is higher, than that of DST-30R
