Abstract

Prospects for the use of polymers in road construction were discussed at an interbranch meeting at the Voronezh enterprise SIBUR («Voronezhsintezkauchuk»). Heads of the largest companies of road and petrochemical industries are participants of the discussion. The use of polymer bitumen binders (PBB) of SBS-polymers under road construction and repair as well as the use of innovation materials and processing was the main subject matter of this discussion. Its goal was creating a safe, low-maintenance road infrastructure. Participants visited the production of SBS polymers in Voronezh, where the first domestic millionth ton of SBS polymers was produced. Data on the growth of PBB production with the use of SBS polymers in Russia are presented.
