It is the prerogative of the Editorial Board to decide on the compliance/non-compliance of the articles received by the Editorial Board with the profile and subject of the journal.
In case of rejection, the editorial board will not engage in further discussions with the authors.
The selection of articles for publication takes place in three stages.
At the first stage, the received manuscript is registered and undergoes the process of Initial evaluation for compliance with formal and qualitative requirements: profile, concept and subject relevance, clarity and logic of presentation in the literate Russian language, etc. in case of non-compliance with these requirements the article may not be accepted for consideration, of which the editorial board will notify the author.
At the second stage, the article accepted is anonymously reviewed by the experts in the field of the reviewed material.
The experts may include both editorial board members and external experts who evaluate the manuscript in accordance with the following criteria:
- The problem setting being relevant to current scientific issues and practical application.
- The originality, independence, scientific interest and/or discussion potential.
- The reliability and validity of the data and arguments presented
- The level of literary editing of the text.
Based on the above, the article may be accepted for publication, returned to the author for potential revisions and amendments, or rejected.
The author is notified about the results of reviewing by e-mail. The decision on acceptance for publication, as a rule, is made within 3-4 months from the date of manuscript registration in the editorial office.
At the final stage the article is prepared for publication.
This process involves the participation of the editorial staff, who are responsible for overseeing if comments and suggestions of the reviewers for improvement have been duly met; then the text is edited to align with the editorial standards and requirements of the journal.

History of the Journal
In November 1927, the State Technical Publishing House of the USSR published the first issue of the journal under the title “Journal of the Rubber Industry”. Its pages reflected the works of several generations of Soviet and Russian scientists and engineers, presenting the key results of research and development in the field of domestic rubber industry, elastomer science and technology for over 90 years.
The first editor of the journal was M.G. Roshal, one of the prominent organizers of Soviet industry, a distinguished politician and a Chairman of the Board of "Rezinotrest" (the Rubber Trust).
In 1937, after merging with "Syntetichesky Kauchuk" ("Synthetic Rubber"), the united journal received the now familiar name "Kauchuk i Rezina"
The publications of the journal through years reflect and trace the main directions and results of implementation of the state scientific and technical policy, highlight the stages of development of enterprises and organizations in the field of rubbers and elastomeric materials production, technology and application. The journal “Kauchuk i Rezina” is, therefore, an informational and structural component of the industry for 94 years.
Today it is on the list of journals recommended by the Higher Attestation Commission for publication of dissertation materials. All articles of the journal are in eLIBRARY and indexed in the Russian Science Citation Index. The journal "Kauchuk i Rezina" is included in the Russian Science Citation Index database on the Web of Science platform.
DOI index is assigned to all articles published in the journal.
